Beat · #206 on The Board
My dad has lived in Omaha almost his entire life. He was a sophomore at OU, and there in the Rosenblatt bleachers, when the #Sooners won the CWS in 1994. 32 years later, he got to watch the title drought end tonight alongside me (OU grad), my mom (OU grad), and my youngest sister (current OU student, big cotton candy gal). His favorite pair of sunglasses flew off his head after Kyle Branch’s insult-to-injury homer, and an increasingly miserable UNC fan sitting behind us stomped on them and crushed them. Other than that, though, I think he probably enjoyed the night as much as anybody. Long time coming.
